Kristine is a surface pattern designer based in Connecticut.

Kristine has a diverse background in the arts. She attended college in London, Ontario, Canada for Graphic Design. After two ad agencies and a contract with both the Canadian Government and Brock University’s Cartography department, she married and left for England on a new adventure!

In England, she was fortunate to train with wonderfully talented Special Effects Artists at Steven Spielberg’s animation company, Amblimation. She worked her way up to key assistant and Department Co-ordinator. Returning to Canada she worked briefly at Nelvana in Toronto, waiting for work visa’s to Florida. Once there she was hired by Disney as a Special Effects Artist at their Orlando studio. She started on Lion King and after six years and five films, left to raise her three young children.

Fate brought her to Connecticut where she was a substitute teacher for eight years. She also taught art independently to students aged 4 to 86!

A diploma in Interior Design from the New York Institute of Art and Design was completed in 2019, but a job was put on hold due to covid.

Instead, an opportunity arose for remote work for Netflix’s “Angry Birds, Summer Madness.” Kristine was back into animating Special Effects via Toon Boom software. At contract’s end, she studied Surface Pattern Design in Illustrator and has never looked back! Pattern design turned out to be the perfect niche for someone who has worked in so many aspects of art.

Kristine’s patterns are all created as original ink, pencil, watercolour or gouache paintings before becoming vector assets. She looks forward to creating many, many more designs that encompass her life and travels so far.

Seeing your watercolours in a repeat pattern is magical!
